This gets into one of the more serious aspects of, and the primary reason I decided to establish this site in the first place. I have very strong feelings about what we, as consumers, are being told about the seemingly endless barrage of products and services available today, by those who stand to profit the most by our purchase, in an effort to entice us into shelling out OUR money to THEM for what THEY tell us WE are going to get in return.

I am continuously apalled by the lies we are being told
- Hey! - That's not politically correct!   oh, I'm sorry, just three sentences and already I fail in the Political Correctness category,   Marketing Strategies being employed in almost all advertising present in todays marketplace.

I am even more amazed by what we are NOT told, up-front, by not only the "little guy" but corporations in the ongoing effort to "push the envelope" in both what they tell us and the way they do it - It's NOT $29.95, It's THIRTY BUCKS
(minus a nickle) and oh, buy-the-weigh, we're legal because we flashed in little tiny letters for about 2 seconds on your screen a ( +$4.95 S&H) which is really FIVE BUCKS ( -$00.05 )
(see? We can do that too!) - and that's a lot of handling 'cause I know shipping don't cost near that much - Oughta sell most anything as used   after all that handling! -
And all for a grand total of $35.00 and you can keep the dime, OK.

Funny how what seemed like such a good deal a minute ago suddenly seems so darned expensive now.

All right, I know that $35.00 is not really all that much but that's where it all got started - kind of like the things they say about drugs and how that all gets started too...
- Hey! - That's not politically correct either! Never said I was gonna be, did I? - Now they're doing it with car prices and other high dollar items - anything they can think of, in fact - Now it's not just $29.95 - It's $29,995 -
And That's
THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!
Now THAT'S pushing the envelope!

Well that's just one tiny, tiny piece of what I have in mind for this area of the site and its just getting started and NO - don't get all nervous - this is NOT going to be ALL text - that's no fun and I wouldn't do that. But I will try to put something new up here every week or so and that will be in a similar format to this or I'd never be able to keep up with it and the rest of the things I need to do (Like making this more colorful - and there's only one of me, you know). And speaking of only one, there may be many more of you so if you have any ideas, thoughts, personal experiences that may benefit others - Please keep it consumer related along the lines of what is above or any type of false or misleading advertising you know of coming from notable companies - and would like to see them here send me an
EMail
and I'll see what I can do about compiling any responses into something people can check back into later on for information about what they may be thinking of getting tricked into
- Hey! - I mean buying in the future.
